Vikingeskibshallen - Erik Christian Sørensen's Viking Ship Museum
Vikingeskibshallen is the Danish name of the museum designed by Erik Christian Sørensen in 1963 to house the five Viking ships found a few years earlier in the Roskilde fjord. Light, structure, rhythm and proportion come together in what can be considered the manifesto of original design research.
The book describes the origins and development of the work through a collection of unpublished projects and documents that convey the principles sought by Erik Christian Sørensen between the 1950s and 1960s.
