50 Buildings - Danish Architecture 2016-2022. 316-page guidebook showcasing the best of Danish architecture from 2016-2022
This publication offers a handy key to the period 2016–2022. Published in English, it aims to show the rest of the world what Danish architecture is about, as part of the 2023 celebrations when Denmark is host for the international Year of Architecture.
Using professional photography and drawings, the book tells the story of 50 different projects – new builds as well as conversions and restaurations – representing a wide range of fields: housing, culture, religion, transport, etc. Each project is displayed across three full spreads with descriptive texts and factual information. Besides a summary of its formal background, each individual work is characterized through a brief quote from the review of it in the journal ARKITEKTEN.
All this amounts to 316 pages, lavishly illustrated with photographs by some of Denmark’s leading architectural photographers.
The soft-cover guide comes in a practical, easy-to-carry format of 17 by 24 cm.
The publication features works by:
Johansen Skovsted Arkitekter, Tulinius Lind, Third Nature, Nøhr & Sigsgaard, Leth & Gori, Christensen & Co, Bertelsen & Scheving, Praksis, Carsten Juel-Chrstiansen, BIG, Lundgaard & Tranberg Architects, JAJA Architects, ONV Arkitekter, NOAA Architects, LH Arkitekter, Malene Bach, lenschow & pihlmann, Kengo Kuma & Associates, Dorte Mandrup, Vandkunsten Architects, Snøhetta, Svendborg Architects, SLA, JJW Arkitekter, EFFEKT Architects, Mangor & Nagel, Arkitema, Christoffer Harlang, Erik Brandt Dam arkitekter, Cornelius + Vöge, Arup, Claus Pryds Arkitekter, C.
