Japanese Sitaku Stackable Set created by leading Japanese designer Makoto Koizumi. Sitaku Stackable set can be used to prepare and present food right at the table as done in Japan. The various pieces included in the collection make it easy to squeeze lemons, to grind seeds or almonds and to grate ginger. The mortar piece, which comes with a locally-produced maple pestle, features an unglazed interior texture reminiscent of the traditional Japanese suribachi mortar.

Makoto Koizumi

Born in Tokyo in 1960. Makoto Koizumi studied under designers Choei Hara and Shigemitsu Hara. His studio is a space where he is responsible for the designs that concerns all aspects of life from architecture to chopstick holders. The professor of Musashino Art University. 2012 mainichi design award. He has published 'The Essence of Design' (2003), 'To/to' (2005), 'Monogatari' and 'The Essence of Materials'.
