Designed by papercraft artist Nozomi Ishii, this miniature view of historic Kyoto requires no scissors or glue for assembly. To transform the pre-printed sheets of paper into a picturesque cityscape, simply separate the perforated pieces and attach them together using the interlocking folding tabs.

Known for her “paper automata”, Ishii has held exhibitions and workshops in Japan and overseas. She has also designed and produced sets for TV commercials, and her works were used for the closing credits of a popular Japanese TV drama.
