Arkitekten is the most significant critical periodical for the communication of contemporary architecture in Denmark. Arkitekten was first published in 1898 and has, in its 120-year history, documented the development and paradigm shift within the field of architecture, published heated debates between colleagues, criticism of new architecture, presentations of competitions and passed on important impulses from the world outside. From housing crisis, garden cities and planning law to brutalism, youth rebellion and urban density to critique on rendering and digital fabrication. The columns and images from the magazine is a cohesive document of the zeitgeist of architecture over time.
It is richly illustrated with photographs and drawings.
