Forming Welfare) How can architecture, space, planning and design add to our present welfare? And which new problems and potentials arise if we try to solve future welfare challenges with form?

Add to wish list

Architecture and welfare state are usually regarded as separate spheres, yet they are both based on the wish to provide a good life for the community and the individual. This book is about welfare design and about designing for welfare. The Nordic countries have a long tradition for welfare design, but how can architecture, space, planning and design add to our present welfare? And which new problems and potentials arise if we try to solve future welfare challenges with form?

The articles in this anthology focus on the developments in the Danish society, and their current and historical implications, but the observations and questions that emerge from this intersection between welfare and welfare forms are universal.
