El Croquis 222: David Chipperfield (2015-2023) Selected Works

The magazine presents an overview of eight years in the evolution of David Chipperfield’s practice, leading up to his receiving the Pritzker Prize in 2023. Covering the period 2015 to 2023, the monograph features a selection of recently completed projects – many with new photographs. It includes the James Simon Galerie in Berlin, Procuratie Vecchie in Venice, the Royal Academy of Arts in London and the Amorepacific headquarters in Seoul.

Two written contributions explore the evolving role of architectural practice today. A dialogue between David Chipperfield and Marina Tabassum considers the need for a wider frame of reference and inspiration in confronting the challenges of climate crisis and social inequality, while Josep Bohigas reflects on the contribution of Fundación RIA’s interdisciplinary work focussed on promoting quality of life in Galicia, Spain.
